Here are answers to some common questions. 

BONAIRE & GENERAL:

  • What currency is used on Bonaire?

    The currency used on Bonaire is the US Dollar.

  • How can I pay on the island?

    It is possible to pay with credit card in most places, it is also possible to get some cash at the local ATM's

  • Is the tap water drinkable?

    The tap water is tasty and safe to drink. 

  • Is renting a pick-up truck really necessary?

    It is really recommended to rent a pick-up truck to explore the island, go diving or snorkeling. It is also only possible to visit the national park with a SUV or a pick-up truck or by booking a tour.  Contact us here for some great package deals.

  • What taxes and fees do I need to pay?

    There is a  $40 STINAPA Nature Fee that all users of the waters around Bonaire need to pay. This can be done online before your travels.

    There is also a $75 entrance tax to enter the island, this can be paid online before your travels to avoid longer waiting time at the airport. 


  • Do you offer discounts for groups or long stays?

    Yes, we offer special rates for dive groups and extended stays. Contact us to inquire about personalized packages.

  • Can I pre-book my diving package?

    Absolutely! Pre-booking ensures your dive gear and schedule are ready upon arrival, so you can start diving right away.


HOTEL & AMENITIES

  • Where is Tropical Divers Resort located?

    Tropical Divers Resort is located on Bonaire, a Caribbean island celebrated as a world-class shore diving destination. Situated close to Bonaire’s top dive sites, center of town and supermarkets our resort offers easy access to the island’s pristine underwater wonders, making it perfect for dive enthusiasts.

  • What types of accommodations do you offer?

    We offer dive-friendly accommodations ranging from comfortable rooms to spacious 1 bedroom apartments. Each unit is designed with divers in mind.

  • Is breakfast included in the room rate?

    Breakfast isn’t included, but if you book directly with us we offer you a grocery service to make your arrival even smoother, or you can choose to have breakfast just a 7-minute walk away for an additional fee.

  • Do you have free Wi-Fi at the resort?

    Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort, allowing you to share your Bonaire diving adventures with friends and family.

  • Is parking available on-site?

    Yes, we provide free, secure on-site parking for guests, making it convenient for those renting cars to visit Bonaire’s best dive spots.

  • Is the tap water drinkable?

    The tap water is tasty and safe to drink. 

  • Are pets allowed at the resort?

    We aim to maintain a quiet, diver-focused environment, so pets aren’t allowed. Luckily, Roger, our beloved resort pup, is here to greet you with a wagging tail and plenty of cuddles!

  • Can I charge my 110 or 220V devices in the room?

    Yes both. Our rooms are provided with 110 and 220V plugs. We also have adapters available at the reception.

  • Should I bring deet for mosquitoes?

    It is not necessary to bring bring deed, the ones available in the supermarket work great. Also all rooms have mosquito screens at the front door and a net above the bed.

  • Do I have to bring beach towels?

    No we provide you with beach towels.

DIVING:

  • What makes Bonaire a top diving destination?

    Bonaire is known as the “Diver’s Paradise” for its protected coral reefs, excellent underwater visibility, and easy shorer access to more than 80 dive sites. From vibrant reefs, the Salt Pier, shipwrecks or steep walls, Bonaire offers something for every diver.

  • Do you offer dive packages for beginners and experienced divers?

    Yes, we provide custom dive packages tailored for both beginners and advanced divers. Whether you’re earning your first certification or exploring the deeper dive sites, our packages are designed to meet your needs.

  • What dive sites are accessible from the resort?

    The hotel is not oceanfront, but the nearest and most frequently visited dive site is Calabas Reef and just a 1 minute away. It’s a favorite among our guests also for night dives for its easy access and great underwater experiences!

  • Can I rent diving gear at the resort?

    Yes, we offer dive equipment rentals, including regulators, BCDs, wetsuits, and dive computers. All gear is maintained to the highest safety standards.

  • Do you offer guided dives and SSI certification courses?

    Absolutely! We provide guided dives led by experienced instructors and SSI certification courses for all levels, including specialties like night diving, nitrox or wreck diving.

  • Are night dives available?

    Yes, we offer guided night dives where you can see nocturnal marine creatures like octopuses, lobsters, also don't miss the monthly ostracod show. It is just like underwater fireworks.

  • Do your tanks have a DIN or INT connection?

    Our tanks all have a DIN connection. No problem if your regulator is international we have inserts available.

  • Can I access tanks and my equipment 24/7?

    Yes you can store tanks and your equipment is secured in our dive locker. We will share the code with you that way you can dive anytime.

ACTIVITIES

  • What other activities are available besides diving?

    Beyond diving, guests can enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, landsailing, sauna, icebaths, floating and exploring Bonaire’s national park. We also arrange guided tours to Klein Bonaire and other top attractions on the island.

  • Do you provide snorkeling gear?

  • Does the resort have direct beach access?

    While we don’t have a beach on-site, we’re just a short distance from the ocean.

  • Do you offer car or bike rentals?

    Yes, we can arrange car rentals for our guests. Exploring Bonaire’s dive sites with a rental vehicle is highly recommended.
