How to get to Bonaire?

Getting to Bonaire is easier than expected. A lot of airlines offer direct flights from the US and from the Netherlands.

Bonaire is a little island located in the southern Caribbean just North of Venezuela and right next to Aruba and Curacao. Making these 3 islands the ABC islands. Bonaire is still a laid back island, without stressful traffic, without stoplights and with lots of diving freedom and other activities that can be done.

Bonaire actually has its own international airport

Bonaire has an international airport right in the middle of the island, this makes it really easy to travel to: there are direct flights from the US and from Amsterdam. Regarding COVID Bonaire is working on making departure even easier and is setting up a test center in the airport. Bonaire's flamingo international airport is probably one of the only airports worldwide where the check-in is outside. By the way the airport is called flamingo because more than 10000 flamingos made this lovely little island their home and use it as a breeding ground.

The 2 European airlines catering to Bonaire are TUI and KLM and the American ones are Delta and American Airlines. Seasonally there are also Canadian flights with Sunwise.



Coming in from the US:

Direct flights from the USA are available with United Airlines from Newark and Houston. Delta Airlines has direct flights from Atlanta. American Airlines has direct flights from Miami. It is also possible to fly via Aruba or Curaçao to Bonaire. For complete routes and details you can check the websites of the different airlines or of course booking agents.


Coming in from Europe:

Direct flights from Europe come from Amsterdam with TUI or KLM. The flight time from Amsterdam to Bonaire is only a 9 hours and a comfortable direct flight. If you are coming from any European country it is easy to either drive to Amsterdam and leave your car on the longterm parking there or you can reach Amsterdam through most other European airports.
